Cyber Security Requirements Strengthened in MR Scheme
The MR scheme has taken a significant step forward in cyber resilience for maritime products.
Key changes include the addition of Appendix XII to the Framework Document, setting clear requirements for documenting cyber resilience. MR Type Approval Certificates and technical documents must now specify device type and relevant IEC 62443-4-2 chapters when cyber security applies. All Technical Requirements will be updated, with implementation for manufacturers effective from 01/07/2026.
