Engine Order Telegraph
An engine order telegraph (EOT), as required by SOLAS Ch.II-1/37, is a means for communicating orders between personnel on the navigating bridge and personnel in the position in the machinery space or in the control room from which the speed and direction of thrust of the propellers can be locally controlled.
